In the Old Testament, after conquering Jerusalem, David proposes to build a house for God. However, Nathan the prophet communicates God’s surpassing grace by telling David that instead, God will build a house for him: The Lord declares to you that the Lord will make you a house (2 Sam 7:11).

From 2016 when we received our present house, we knew if we surpassed the limit of 10 men, we would need to buy or build a ‘novitiate’ – a house for ‘novices’ in formation. In 2021, we reached our limit of 10 men, and we began the process of exploring next residences. Now with 9 men in vows, 2 in formation, and more applying and visiting, our need has become urgent.

During the past two years, we contracted an architectural rendering of a 12,300 square foot novitiate, priced at $6 -$8 million including land. We have looked at buildings and raw land, even as construction costs have soared, and fundraising goals rose.

In June 2023, we closed on a property in Bennett, Colorado. It is a residence on 40 acres, with 9 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. Thank you to those who have helped us raise $2.77 million towards our goal of $3,500,000: $2,650,000 for the residence; $850,0000 for remodeling interior space into additional bedrooms and bathrooms.
