“God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in Him”-1 Jn 4:16
May the peace of Christ abide in our hearts!

As you know, Jesus has called me to discern the priesthood with the Servants of Christ Jesus in Denver, Colorado. For the past two years I have been immersed in formation in the Scriptures, the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the vows of religious life, and the Catechism. At the University of Denver, I gather with 6-10 men on a weekly basis, allowing the Word of God to convert us into the image of Jesus. I have been blessed to travel preaching the Gospel in California, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Kenya, and the Holy Land. During my first two summers I completed different formation exercises such as my hospital immersion, my manual labor month, my 30-day silent retreat, and my pilgrimage to the holy land. As amazing all of these opportunities have been, nothing has compared with the intimate prayer life Jesus has granted me. It’s truly miraculous what He can do with one soul’s “yes”.

On August 24th, The Feast of St. Bartholomew, I knelt before the Blessed Sacrament in the Basilica Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. There I professed vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience in order to live the life Jesus did when he was on earth. The great joy and peace I encountered during the mass was an affirmation that I am is where Our Lord is calling me.

God has called me to take the next step by beginning my seminary studies at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver, Colorado. Since beginning studies, I have been surprised how evident the necessity for philosophy is not only for seminarians, but for all people. I have been inspired to study, not for the sake of simply knowing, but for awakening people’s natural desire to the Truth! In order to continue this pursuit, I write to you to humbly ask for your financial assistance. Although my tuition expenses are covered by the Archdiocese, I am still in need of covering other basic living costs. These expenses include: housing, insurance, transportation, groceries, and textbooks, amounting to around $1,200 per month, or $14,400 per year.

Our community relies on God’s providence to be able to fulfill the vocation He has planned for us. With this in mind, your assistance would not only go to helping our community, but also the souls that one day God will convert through the knowledge I gain. Monthly supporters would be most helpful, but any amount you are able to give is appreciated! If you are able, you can support me by check or credit card. Checks may be made out to “Servants of Christ Jesus” and mailed to the return address. Donations by credit card may be submitted through our website www.scjesus.org. All donations are tax deductible.

His Servant,
Br. Peter Xavier
